Jury Comments:
"Urban design where there is no “urban” – huge challenge and the jury applauds the comprehensiveness of this forward looking proposal and the boldness of proposing the development of the “urban” part of the community over an existing built environment. This appears to have been made possible because of the effective involvement of business leaders and citizens of the community in the design process. The leadership of the landscape architect is apparent and significant for the profession. The jury appreciates the presentation of the analysis. It aids greatly in understanding the rationale for the plan. The plan is simple, straightforward, and responsive to the conclusions of the analysis. It should ultimately help the community evolve into having four districts each with a distinct images built around appropriate identifying icons and places for people. The plan appears to have proposed appropriate transitions between the residential areas and the “urban” portion of the community. The sketches help bring reality to the far reaching proposals and more of them would have further enhanced the
presentation."
