OKASLA Annual Awards
2003 Analysis and Planning Category:
Merit Award: "Kingfisher Trails"
CLS & Associates: Connie Scothorn, ASLA
Jury Comments:
"Excellent project – comprehensive in scope, well thought out in detail and graphic presentation conveys a concise and clear message. The project is ambitious and appears to be headed toward success most likely because of the process used to involve the stakeholders in the design and planning process. Workshops followed by newsletter that kept all stakeholders informed of progress on the project appears to have been a very effective communication device and important to the process. The jury felt the process used may ultimately be as, if not more important to the success of the project as the plan is. Applaud appropriate use of GIS (relatively new technology) and effective use of before and after graphics for stakeholders. This project advances the visibility of the profession by clearly placing the landscape architect in a leadership position."
